The purpose of the restoration was to remove the elements that had generated active corrosion, to stabilise the piece from the chemical point of view, to strengthen and complete it. The operation of restoration continued with the drying and the strengthening of the piece by impregnating it with graphite araldite epoxy resin.The missing parts were completed with araldite epoxy resin on a glass fibre support.Then they were finished and immersed in cellulose nitrate dope.
